Musical medicine

Date: Today - 16 January, 2007
Time: 9:30PM, IST
Location: Ambattur Industrial Estate Bus Depot, Madras.
Context: I was looking at the muddy road as far as my impaired bespectacled eyes could see, wondering if I had missed the last bus to my place.

Voice-inside-my-head: “You know what, buddy? You dug a royal grave for yourself today. And you didn’t stop there. You lied in it and have started covering yourself with mud. You are as good as dead, dude”

The voice-inside-my-head has this habit of exaggerating things. One tough day, and the voice-inside-my-head forecasts Doomsday. I have been through tougher days.

I was listening to this song while traveling to my place. It is amazing how music can lighten up your mood at such an alarming pace.

Your voice didnt exaggerate. it probably assumed you were gonna travel on that road (whatever thats called) by some car or 2-wheeler.

itchingtowrite,
buses run everyday. wow! why didn't i think that way? probably because i haven't yet learnt the art of sleeping in the standing position while waiting for buses :P

sakshi,
i was preparing myself to be robbed by some greedy auto-rickshaw wala. then out of nowhere the savior appeared - my bus - that to with enough space to stand. that turned out to be one of my luckier day :)

deepa,
who said gladiators don't exist now? they are here. in heaps. they ride 2-wheelers and drive cars in the roads of madras. i am not that brave. not yet. so, i take the help of the greatest glatiators of them all - the bus drivers :D

usha,
thank you, ji :)

life lover,
yeah... the lyrics is fine. sometimes i find it too boisterous and childish. but the tune and music... wow!!! enchanting. particularly the guitar piece.
out of the grave?! not yet, madam.
alive? yeah. that is the horrible part.
kicking... true. kicking myself :D :D :D

sakshi,
oops... the thing about 'three things' is quite interesting. but the tag by life lover too was interesting. it is still pending with me. lazy me. i will try to do them as soon as possible :)
and then the-voice-inside-my-head tell me, "as-soon-as-possible in your dictionary means within this birth and the next 4 births to come". grrr... i will finish the tags atleast to prove the-voice-inside-my-head false...

artnavy,
haha... happy old year, ji :)
bryan adams sounds like woman??!! then, how about justin timberlake squeaking 'sexy back'??!! :P :P

chitra,
i can't ride/drive. even if i can, i am too scared to do it in the roads of madras.
i don't think anybody would give me a lift.
so, my options are very very limited - bus or auto-rickshaw :)
